WHAT IS SKIN NEEDLING?

Skin needling is a minimally-invasive non-surgical procedure for facial rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro-needling device to create controlled skin injury.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a micro-wound. This controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the dermis layer of the skin. In addition, new blood capillaries are formed. The result of these two processes leads to reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation, resulting in improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.

DOES IT HURT?

Before we begin your skin micro needling procedure, a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to numb your skin and make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

The treatment will take approximately 60 mins in total (including 30 mins of skin preparation).

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

After your skin-needling treatment, your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis layer. As new collagen and elastin is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced.

On average it takes up to six weeks before you fully notice the visible signs of repair and regeneration. Your skin condition will continue to improve over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.

HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE IT DONE?

For best results we would recommend that your skin micro-needling therapy consists of a series of three treatments, each approximately six weeks apart. Some conditions such as acne scarring may require further treatments, but we will be able to advise this during your consultation.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT?

Immediately post treatment, your skin will look as though you have moderate sunburn; it may also feel warm and tighter than usual. These after effects typically subside after one to two hours and you will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day.

Once the redness has cleared, it is very important that you care for your skin on an on-going daily basis. We provide you with a tailor-made aftercare skin treatment pack to take home.
